Frequently asked questions

How does the Circus Dumbbell Press differ from a standard dumbbell shoulder press?
The Circus Dumbbell is a specialised strongman implement with a thick, fixed-weight head. The one-arm nature demands significantly more core anti-lateral-flexion strength and shoulder rotation control than a bilateral dumbbell press.
What grip position should I use on the Circus Dumbbell Press?
Use a neutral to slightly supinated grip. The dumbbell rests on the forearm and front deltoid with the elbow pointing forward and down. In competition, a full lockout of the pressing arm is required to count the rep.
